Great news, today we have zero positive cases to report. From the start of Term 2, we will no longer be reporting on school covid cases. 



We wish you a happy Easter holiday and School holidays.


A reminder if you test positive you must isolate for 7 days. Household contacts will need to isolate with you for 7 days.


Your 7 days starts from either the day:


your symptoms started
you received a positive test result (if you do not have any symptoms).
This is called Day 0.


If someone in your house tests positive, they will need to restart their 7 days. The rest of your house can still end their isolation when you do.

Tomorrow –  12th April we will be selling the last of our Juicies and Moosies for the term. We are selling the last of our stock, so some flavour choices are limited.

 I wish to inform you of two new confirmed cases since our update on Friday. One student is in Room 5  and one is in Room 7. They are both at home isolating with their families.  One was last at school on Friday 11th March and the other was at school on Friday 18th March.



Due to the changes with regard to close contacts, unless students are household contacts of a  positive covid case they are not required to self isolate. However, it’s vitally important to not send your children to school if they are displaying any symptoms and get them tested straight away.

Basketball Year 5 – 8 Everyone can play again!!

There has been a change to the format for this term, to enable our children to keep playing basketball as Te Aroha copes with the effects of covid in our area.


 


Starting next week the Year 7 & 8 children can go to the Silver Fern Event Centre on a Monday evening, 5pm – 6.30pm and the Year 5 & 6 children will play on a Wednesday evening, 5 – 6.30pm.. They will pay $5 at the door and have 30 minutes coaching and then an hour of playing. The teams will be formed each week at the Event centre determined by the numbers attending from all of the local schools.


Basketball is now available to all our Year 5 – 8 students regardless of their vaccination status.

The mobile dental unit is visiting Stanley Avenue School….

 ….to apply Fluoride varnish (for children who have consent) to your child/rens teeth if they are due for it. They will also be doing full dental checks on the Year 8 students. Your child will be sent home with a Covid form that needs to be filled in and returned to school before your child can be seen. The Dental Van will be seeing the children class by class. If your child requires any future dental treatment the dental unit will be in touch with parents to invite them down to Te Aroha Primary to complete treatment there if needed.
